Medical Supplies Needed
January 21st, 2010A message from the Mayor
Hi folks -
As we all follow the aftermath of the catastrophic earthquake in Haiti, we have seen the many injuries sustained by the survivors. A call has gone out for donations of simple medical supplies that will be sent to Dayspring and several other groups on the ground in Haiti. These items are large rolled gauze bandages, gauze pads, Ace-type bandages, splints, and medical tape.
We will have a collection bin set up in the main rotunda at Town Hall to collect these supplies to deliver to the groups that will get them to Haiti. If, in your weekly shopping trip, you can find it in your heart to pick up an item or two from that list and drop it off at Town Hall, your small gesture could mean a great deal to the recovery of an earthquake survivor.
Our own Reverend Scott Hoffman from the Camp Meeting Association is heading to Haiti on Monday with Dayspring Ministries to check on their 175 orphans who are in their care. Please keep him and his volunteers and the children for which they are caring in your thoughts and prayers.
Neptune is a town with a big heart. Even if all you have to offer is a prayer or a kind thought for the earthquake victims in Haiti and their friends and family here, that means a lot.
Thank you for your continued generosity and the emotional and moral support Neptune has offered to our fellow residents whose lives have been so greatly affected.
Regards,
Mayor Mary Beth Jahn
