Work to Begin on Flood Mitigation Project, Early January 2012

Dear SRH Resident:

In conjunction with the Mayor and Council of the Harbor Commission and Engineering, we take pride in announcing the commencement of the long awaited Flood Mitigation project. This project is primarily funded by F.E.M.A. for a section of South Riverside Drive. Staging of equipment will commence the week of December 19^th. Equipment will be stored at the Marina Waterfront section on South Riverside Drive.

Work on this project will start on or about the first week of January, 2012 weather and tides permitting. Scope of work will include replacing outfall pipes repairing or replacing catch basins and equipping the outfalls with tide flex valves. This along with installation of new Bulkhead will mitigate flooding in the area from Highland to Beverly Avenues. We also anticipate making upgrades to the Marina in the form of Floating docks and electric in needed areas.

We ask that all residents be aware and take precautions while driving this route.

Construction Equipment will be in close proximity to the road if not in it from time to time. Police and or traffic control will be used as needed. We do not anticipate any road closures at this time.
