2010 TAX SALE NOTICE

 NOTICE OF LIEN SALE OF PROPERTY FOR NON-PAYMENT OF TAXES, ASSESSMENTS
AND OTHER MUNICIPAL CHARGES

 Public Notice is hereby given that I, Michael J. Bascom, CTC, Tax Collector in the Township of Neptune, County of Monmouth, State of New Jersey on March 18, 2010  at 10:00 am in the Neptune Municipal Complex, 25 Neptune Boulevard, Neptune, NJ, or at such later time and place to which said sale may then be adjourned, will expose for lien sale and sell the several parcels of land on which taxes and/or other municipal charges remain unpaid for the year 2009 and prior subject to N.J.S.A. 54:5 et seq.  Said properties will be sold subject to redemption at the lowest rate of interest, but in no case shall exceed 18% per Annum.  Payment for liens purchased shall be made via cash, money order, certified check or wire transfer prior to the conclusion of the sale.

Industrial properties may be subject to the Spill Compensation and Control Act (N.J.S.A. 58:58:10-23.11 et seq.), and/or the Water Pollution and Control Act (N.J.S.A. 13:1k-6 et. seq.).  In addition, the municipality is precluded from issuing a Tax Sale Certificate to any prospective purchaser who is or may be in any way connected to the prior owner or operator of the site.

At any time before the sale, said collector will accept payment due on any property with interest and costs incurred by cash, certified check or money order.

            Prospective bidders should register for participation in the Tax Sale prior to March 18, 2010.

IN THE EVENT THAT THE OWNER OF THE PROPERTY IS ON ACTIVE DUTY IN THE MILITARY SERVICE, THE TAX COLLECTOR SHOULD BE NOTIFIED IMMEDIATELY.

The Township of Neptune is now offering residents the ability to pay bills online through eBill. eBill is an Electronic Bill Payment Service which allows bill payers an easy, secure and online method to pay bills online. eBill is a service offering from MCC (Metropolitan Communications, LLC). eBill allows Neptune residents to electronically access and pay their property taxes online. We plan to expand this service to other departments in the near future.

A fee of .35 cents per transaction is charged when using ACH transfer ( electronic check) from your checking or savings account. For credit card payments, the fee is based upon the amount of the payment.
