Neptune Township Receives Three Achievements in Planning Awards

Neptune Township was the recipient of not one, but three Achievement in Planning Awards bestowed by the NJ Planning Officials. The NJPO provides education, support and information to over 9.000 members. This was their 13th Annual Awards Banquet. SCHOOLHOUSE SQUARE is a $16million urban development offering high quality affordable housing in Neptune. MIDTOWN COMMONS, a 51,999 square foot commercial building houses the Family Health Center of Jersey Shore University Medical Center. The project includes the development of a .72 acre urban park that will be located directly across the Midtown Commons Building. The RAIN TREE GARDEN at the Jumping Brook fields was the first to be installed by the Environmental/Shade Tree Commission. This project will clean more storm water and reduce runoff volume. Mayor Kevin McMillan was accompanied by Richard Ambrosio, Chair of Neptune's Shade Tree and Environmental Commission; Monique Burger, Neptune's Community Program Coordinator; Rose Havey, Lands Use Administrator; Leanne Hoffman, Director of Engineering and Planning; Joseph Krimko, Former Mayor and Planning Board member and Joseph Shafto, Planning Board Chair
