The FoodBank’s onsite Culinary Skills Training Program helps adults in need of permanent employment get the skills they need for better paid jobs. The program helps men and women become self-sufficient through:
- 12 weeks of on-site food preparation and classroom training, provided by a certified executive chef
- An additional week of job shadowing at another food establishment to boost experience
- The opportunity to receive ServSafe and NJ Food Handlers Certification.
Graduates also receive help obtaining and keeping jobs in our shore area hospitality industry.
The program is free of charge for qualified applicants and is supported through grant funding from Bank of America, JCP&L, Wachovia Foundation, Sodexo Foundation, The Gannett Foundation, Bunbury Company and the Monmouth County Workforce Investment Board.
The Culinary program has graduated over 130 trainees. New classes are scheduled 3-4 times each year. For more information or to apply, see flier, download an application or contact the Culinary Training Program. http://www.foodbankmoc.org/?page_id=50
