Volunteers: "Hands That Serve-Hearts That Care"
On Wednesday, July 31, 2013 Neptune Township Officials and staff of the Neptune Township Department of Senior Services and Senior Center honored 184 volunteers for their hard work and dedication to the Senior Center and to the community. Congratulations and words of appreciation were offered by Mayor Eric Houghtaling, Committeeman and Senior Center Liaison Randy Bishop, Freeholder Director Thomas Arnone, Freeholder John Curley, Freeholder Serena DiMaso, Interfaith Neighbors Director of Nutrition, Sandy Silbert and Interfaith Volunteer Coordinator, Diane Madsen.
A special recognition plaque and gift was given to senior volunteer, Lois Stokes who at the young age of 86 retired after seventeen years of service.
A buffet lunch was served and entertainment was provided by local singer, Wayne Hughley.
