Neptune Senior Center’s annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration was held Wednesday, March 19. 175 seniors enjoyed a delicious corned beef and cabbage lunch prepared by Senior Center Kitchen Manager, Teresa Richard and staff and assisted by John Deacher and his family and staff of Foodini’s Catering. 350 lbs. of corned beef, 3 crates of cabbage and 150 pounds of potatoes made for a “filling” and fun filled afternoon complete with dancing, singing and lots of “Irish Laughter” A good time was had by all.

Members of the Twp’s Environmental and Shade Tree Commission were joined by volunteers Laura Granelli, Beth Miller and Boy Scout Troop #81 at Volunteer Park on Saturday, April 19 as they gave out approximately 800 seedlings. “The event was very successful as many of the residents were grateful for the opportunity to receive the seedlings at no cost”, stated Chris Bedrosian, Secretary to the Commission. He went on to say that most had damaged trees as well as trees that died due to Superstorm Sandy high winds.

The fields were covered with plastic eggs as toddlers to fifth graders scrambled to gather them in their baskets or bags. The lucky winners brought their silver eggs to the stand to exchange for a prize.
Mr & Mrs Cottontail were assisted by Fred Boenig, Recreation Coordinator, members of the Recreation Committee and NHS Student Council (Daija Bullock, Quashieria Crippen, Kyli Taylor, Nick L Edwards, Jackie I Edwards and Gianna Gioia).
Special Police Officer Matt Richardson helped direct traffic and parking.
